🔑 Manual Remote Programming Procedures – Suzuki Jimny

This guide explains how to manually program remote locking functions for Suzuki Jimny models that support DIY programming.

⚠️ Important:
These procedures program remote lock/unlock only.
They do NOT program the immobiliser transponder chip.
If the vehicle will not start, diagnostic immobiliser programming is required.

Suzuki Jimny SN413

1998–2002 🔐 Manual Remote Programming

• Maximum 2 remotes can be programmed

Programming Steps

1. Confirm all doors are CLOSED and the ignition key is OUT.
2. Open the driver’s door.
3. Insert the key and switch ignition ON within 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition OFF within 10 seconds.
5. Within 20 seconds, press and release the driver’s door contact switch 3 times.
6. Within 10 seconds, switch ignition ON.
7. Turn ignition OFF within 10 seconds.
8. Within 20 seconds, press and HOLD both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote for more than 5 seconds.
   🔒 Doors will lock/unlock to confirm programming mode.
9. Within 5 seconds, press LOCK or UNLOCK on the remote.
   🔒 Doors will cycle again to confirm the remote is stored.
10. To program another remote, repeat the entire procedure.

Suzuki Jimny SN413

2002–2005 🔐 Manual Remote Programming

The 2002–2005 SN413 Jimny uses the same procedure as 1998–2002.

Follow all steps exactly as listed above.
Maximum 2 remotes can be programmed.

2005–2018 🔐 Manual Remote Programming (Two Methods)

Up to 2 remotes can be programmed.

OPTION 1 – Door Switch Method (Recommended)

1. Confirm all doors are CLOSED and the ignition key is OUT.
2. Open the driver’s door.
3. Insert the key and switch ignition ON within 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition OFF within 10 seconds.
5. Within 20 seconds, press and release the driver’s door contact switch 3 times.
6. Within 10 seconds, switch ignition ON.
7. Turn ignition OFF within 10 seconds.
8. Within 20 seconds, press and HOLD LOCK + UNLOCK on the remote for more than 5 seconds.
   🔒 Doors will lock/unlock to confirm programming mode.
9. Within 5 seconds, press LOCK or UNLOCK on the remote.
   🔒 Doors will cycle again to confirm programming.
10. Repeat for additional remotes if required.

OPTION 2 – Battery Reset Method

1. Stand outside the vehicle with all doors closed and unlocked.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Wait 30 seconds.
4. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
5. Wait 30 seconds.
6. Using the driver’s door lock knob, lock and unlock the door twice.
7. Press the LOCK button on the new remote once.
   🔒 Doors will lock/unlock.
8. Press the driver’s door lock knob to LOCK.
9. Press the LOCK button on the remote twice.
   🔓 Doors will unlock to confirm programming.

Suzuki Jimny GJ

2018+ ⚠️ Diagnostic Programming Required

For 2018 and newer Suzuki Jimny (GJ series):

🚫 Manual remote programming is not supported.
All remotes and keys must be programmed using OBD diagnostic equipment.

⚠️ Common Reasons Programming Fails

• Incorrect remote frequency or part number
• Weak remote battery
• Door contact switch not registering
• Timing steps not followed accurately
• Immobiliser or ECU faults

If the vehicle does not confirm with door lock cycles, diagnostic programming is required.
